Katie Dolinsky, M.A. LAMFT

Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist

Hi!  Thank you for considering me to be your therapist and welcome to the incredible journey of self-discovery.  I believe that most people enter therapy because they desire to make a change in their life or overcome something which is difficult for them.  As your therapist, I work to provide a safe and supportive environment to facilitate that change, build strength and improve relationships in your life.   I practice from a humanistic and collaborative lens, which means that I focus on the whole person, encourage self-exploration and believe that each person is the expert of their own story.    As a marriage and family therapist I believe that relationships are the most important component in our lives and that is no different in therapy.  To me, the most effective therapy is based in a secure and trusting therapeutic relationship and I conduct therapy with authenticity, empathy and direct honesty to grow that relationship.  Special focus is placed on how my clients connect and communicate with others and how their connections may play a central role in their happiness and fulfillment.

I use several evidenced based theories to guide my therapy including experiential, narrative and internal family systems theory.  My approach is based in attachment theory and I also utilize inner child work frequently.   I have specialized training and experience in working with and treating those struggling with addiction and trauma including developmental / attachment trauma.  I also have experience working with those who have a loved one struggling with addiction and can help navigate how to manage and repair relationships with broken trust.  What I enjoy most about my therapeutic work is helping my clients to reconnect with loved ones and finding their authentic selves.  I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns about how therapy with me might look or feel.  I know the incredible amount of courage it takes to reach out for support and make a change; please know that I am here to make this process easier, achievable and with any hope a little fun.
